CNN Politics reports Chinese lasers injure US military pilots in Africa, Pentagon says

The US issued a notice to airmen "to exercise caution when flying in certain areas in Djibouti," which "was issued due to lasers being directed at US aircraft on a small number of separate occasions over the last few weeks," according to the notice obtained by CNN.

Police arrest man after lasers pointed at planes near Phoenix Sky Harbor and Deer Valley airports

A 57-year-old man has been arrested and accused of pointing lasers at several aircraft flying in and out of Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and Deer Valley Regional Airport in the past week, according to Phoenix Police Department. Lam Tran was arrested Saturday and is facing a charge of felony endangerment, according to jail records and a police statement issued Monday.

King County Sheriff's Guardian One chopper flashed with laser

Just after 6 p. m. Tuesday, King County Sheriff’s Office's helicopter – Guardian One – was hit with a sudden flash of light as it flew above Shoreline. “A green laser light illuminated the cockpit, which was very bright,” Deputy Jessica Santos told KIRO 7. The laser “actually caused some temporary blindness” to the crew.

Ryanair pilot blinded by laser during landing

The Ryanair flight crew aborted a landing after becoming distracted by a laser as they approached Porto airport. ANDREW YATES/REUTERS

A Ryanair flight was forced to abort its planned landing at an airport in Portugal last year when one of its pilots was temporarily blinded by a green laser.

Virgin Airlines Flight Returns to Heathrow After Laser Dazzles Pilot

The flight has been rescheduled to 1pm today - leaving scores of Virgin Atlantic passengers furious. A flight track published on the website FlightAware. com showed that the Airbus A340-600 had passed over the west coast of Ireland when it chose to turn around.
